Dogs vs Disability - Aidan Moesby
A single image projection

Image description - Wooden French Doors are open revealing a red curtain. The doors and curtain are lit by a square of light.
In the middle of the curtain a projection shows the icon for a wheelchair user, representing a disabled person, in black on the left of the image. There is a 'versus' symbol in the centre and 3 black dog silhouettes are on the right.
Disability vs Dogs
Disability is being written out of, or not included, in the art cannon. I have over a period of time doing an occasional series called Disability vs Dogs on twitter. I place disability as a search term into the search engine on the Tate website and the compare it with another random or topical news term. The number of results returned for this usually outnumbers the term disability. I then highlight this on Twitter #DisabilityvsDogs as a playful way to initiate conversation around disability in the mainstream arts ecology.
