Left Hand page is a collage of illustrations of women, old and young, monstrous and angelic. Red and purple and brown tones reminiscent of menstrual blood. A vulva like flower. The word ‘cuerpo’ emblazoned along the bottom.
The right hand side is handwritten text in green ink. The Spanish words are italicised and the English is capitalized. It reads:
Mi cuerpo es mi campo de batalla /
My body is my battlefield /
Cada cicatriz - una historia de mi vida /
Each scar a story of my life /
Un arte de mi vide, un lienzo de mi guerra /
Art of my life, a canvas of my war /
Su ne ves a una victima, que no me sabes /
If you see me as a victim, then you don’t know me /
!Escuchame! Escucha a mi cuento, mi ideas /
Listen to me! Listen to my tale, my ideas /
Tengo cosa a decir por que mi cuerpo es mi cuerpo /
I have something to say because my body is my body\
y tu opinión? No me importa /
And your opinion? I don’t care /
Soy un reina y my cuerpo es mi reino /
I am the queen and my body is my queendom /
Mi cuerpo no es un democracia /
My body is not a democracy
